How about a night run somewhere? Strata is nice for that sort of thing, and I got lights - lots of lights!

Want me to bring those Cibies for you?

It would make sense to do The Gap on Friday coz we would meet at Brecon and end up at Llandovery - although it would be a circular route.

I'll get my maps out and sort out a route.

Night run along the strata will be a laugh

Cibies - yes please - price tbd lol

        Route not formalised yet!

It's just that it usually makes sense for us to end up 'oop North' due to most peeps travelling back further 'oop North'

Please make it a finish up North if possible
My daughter has a show on the Sunday night, wouldn't mind trying to make it.

Hehe, Wales is a tiny place compared to the length of your journey mate. You'll probably want to finish either somewhere near Welshpool for Shrewsbury and the M54, Ross on Wye for the M50 / M5 or near the M4 again! Otherwise the ways out of Wales are painful if you're in a hurry.

He'd probably want to finish near Glasgow.

                The Route.

                OK - I have a cunning plan..........

We are NOT doing The Gap -it's too far away from anywhere to make it worthwhile. So here it is

Friday 9th October - from mid dayish - Meet in Rhayader - Mid Wales
                Tracks will be.....

                The Diff Breaker (yikes)
                The Reservoirs (scenic)
                The Rock Garden (vicious)

According to time available, these tracks can be done in different combinations.

Saturday 10th October - early break camp and head to
                Abergwesyn Valley (scenic)
Strata Florida (many river crossings)(lots of time to play and enjoy)
Nant y Moch Reservoir (quite axle twisty in places)

                End up near Machynlleth

Sunday 11th October - early break camp and head to

                Happy Valley (Goran's favourite)

THEN WE SPLIT - NORTHERNERS GO NORTH, SOUTHERN SOFTIES GO SOUTH

Northerners will do B17, Bala, more to follow, but you will be heading in the right direction

Southerners will go back over Happy Valley and then do Glyndwrs Way towards Staylittle and carry on towards Rhayader where will will split and go home.

I will be there Friday with at least one passenger. Maybe more if Goran has not found/bought a truck by then. Will do our best to make early afternoon.
Looking forward to meeting you all.

It is a plan so cunning that it could divide itself by zero!

Different campsites - don't know which yet - I'll sort that out next week

Yoshie - this is all for you mate so you'd better be there early!!!!

And what's happened to Goran's truck?

Can't make all 3 days an it's not fair if someone else wants to go. Will keep an eye on this thread an maybe someone will drop out an I could tag along on a couple of runs (that's if I haven't blown up by then).
How can I be lost when I've got no where to go

Mutley and I may not make it until Friday night, as I have to work and he has puppy things to do - where is the campsite for Friday night?

                                Uh-oh...

Vicki just informed me that my MOT is due next Monday. I need to replace rear brakes (mainly due to bearing failure and one side being filled with oil) before then. I dont have any evening time for spannering...

I'm gonna ask local garage who MOTs Vicki's car if I can leave him to do the brakes when I'm at work (I'll give him the parts) so might be sorted this week - but I'm just mentioning that I *may* not make it if it comes to me having to work on the truck at the weekend...
