Went along to the Land Rover world show at Eastnor Castle yesterday. This is probably the only time they open up the LR test/proving tracks for the general public to use
After all the work i have recently done to truck I thought it was time to see if I had done a proper job and booked to go round the intermediate course, I have previously done this the last 2 years and managed to get bogged down in the exact same spot both years. Both of which required a winch to recover me though
Well after a slight miss start, where we got directed onto the extreme course and ended up completing around 25 % before it was realised by a marshall that were shouldn't have been there and got pulled out along with 3 or 4 others, we got onto the correct route and sailed it without any issues
At one point I even had to recover a disco that the driver had managed to get wedged on a fence post.
Here's a couple of pics from the day
There's a few more Here
We have managed to video pretty much all of the route taken, including the escorted route out of the extreme course. You'll find the vids on the same link as the pics above.
Be warned that some are not SMALL files and definitely not dial up (56k) friendly if anyone is still using this. Feel free to save to your PC's prior to watching if you wish. Just a shame that PB blocked the originals which had music due to copyright issues so these are silent movies i'm afraid.
Wasn't till we got parked up that I noticed I'd lost the front number plate, but as that was the only damage found so far I ain't complaining
Think i need to source a dash mount for the camera next time though, it got a little bumpy at times and the dash appears frequently
