  • North East Off Road This Sunday March 1st

Hi all, don't know if you're interested but a few of us will be doing some green laning / off roading this Sunday, 1st March. We're normally out from around 11 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon, although we're on the road quite a bit so if you want to leave earlier it's no problem.

One of the guys has all the toys on his truck, winch, waffle boards, land anchor etc, so don't be afraid of getting stuck. Just remember if you don't fancy doing a section you don't have to, nobody wants to see you break your truck!

If you fancy a look out let me know and I'll pass on the details. It should be around the Wolsingham, Stanhope area.

I look forward to, hopefully, seeing a few of you there!

    Jim. (Scorpion)

      Hi Jim
I thik I told you before, I have family in Newcastle and would like to join you for a run at some point this summer. Bit too short notice for this one though.

BTW - wasnt I gonna buy some wheels from you or summit?

Okay, my earlier info for Stanhope and Wolsingham was way off! Just spoke to my partners in crime and we're heading for Great Broughton which is south of Middlesbourgh. From there it's a 20 mile round trek on the Yorkshire moors. The green lane / off road route is 10 miles out and 10 miles back with a few steep sections.

I don't know if this will be too far for some people, however if there's anyone still interested just let me know and I'll send you my mobile phone number.

Click on this link to see where we are heading:

If you would like to try something a bit closer i.e. Wolsingham, Stanhope etc, give me a week and I'll try and arrange something for Sunday 15th of March.

            Jim.

If I get my half shaft replaced tomorrow, I might be able to join you on Sunday.
Its only 2 and a bit hours from me.
If I can make it, Ill text you Saturday night.

Are we talking getting the car wrecked on these roads? Not been out before, i seen some of the pics on the forums and the tracks looked like they had been an earthquake.. Dont want to get the truck stuck thats all. If its too bad then probably wont bother....Let me know tho thanks Kev...

15th march wd be better for me also

Kevin, from what I gather this weekends trek is not really suited to non modified trucks. I certainly don't want to encourage you to a place that may cause damage to your Surf. I think for a first time outing the event on the 15th of March will be more suitable.

I'll let you know more about the outing on the 15th next week. I really hope you can make it as the Wolsingham / Stanhope trip is nicely paced for a first run off road.

                  Jim.

(Please excuse any spelling / grammar mistakes as I've just go back from the club!)

Missed this one Jim, but by the sounds of it that may not have been a bad thing. Anyway I was money grabbing at work and will ever other Sunday this month, insurance is due in April. But if anyone would like to play around weardale or teesdale sometime in April I could be up for it.

Yeah, yesterday was a bit fractius.

I'm delaying my next outing until April anyway. March the 15th is now a no go I'm afraid. I'd give you plenty of warning about the next trip but can't PM or email you mate. You can send your email address to scorpion-gb@hotmail.co.uk if want any updates mate.

Haven't washed mine yet Alan, I'm scared to! Will get the T-Cut and buffer out if it's nice at the weekend, but I fear the worst!

Yeah I suppose it is a bit odd. Some of the lads who were out on Sunday had more sratches than paint! Still I like to try and have the best of both worlds if possible mate! At least I've moved on from the Shiny Club! The truck does get dirty now.
