  • Welsh lanes???

Unfortunately I can't make the big trip to Wales due to work but I am going up that way towards the end of the month with a mate who has just bought a Surf.

We're looking to camp near the south near Newport or Cardiff way. Can anyone suggest some good lanes that we can check out while we're up there. We've got some OS maps and thats about it.

    Any Help would be great.

    SARN HELEN!!!!

Go a little further west to Neath, and give Boyo a shout for places to camp nearby - well worth the trip, Sarn Helen is a great route, none damaging and is fine for standard Surfs too - take a camera if the weather is good as the scenery is stunning!!

I live close to the neath area, would like to do more off road with the surf, ( I bought it to tow a race car) Sarn Helen sounds good any idea exactly where it is? Not interested in damaging the car ( as I need it for work) but would like to learn more about the off roading it.
      Cheers

The southern end starts at Aberdulais - but its (offically?) closed from sept to may. You have to start just to the north of Onllwyn. Finally comes out just south of Brecon.

You should also try Strata Florida, but thats north of Llandovery, which may be futher away than your plans.

I'd camp somewhere around Llangorse Lake or Talybont on Usk - I've stayed here - quite nice too
