It's a bit of a funny day, we are really doing a reccy for another clubs trip on the green lanes around North Dorset, but we are hopefully going to have enough time to have a look on The Plains as well.

So it's going to be very unorganised and the timings are going to hard to say

Does anyone know if The Plains are open on the Saturday 3rd March? or just as important on the 10th of March?

Normally always open at weekends, they'll only shut bits of it if they are firing

Call Salisbury Plain Range control on 01980 674763. Its a recorded message letting you know whats going on.

Or spot and talk to a Range Warden (White Landy or Pickup with flashy lights on roof). They're the best ones to know where not to go.

Any graded road (ie stone track) and 99% of BOATS/RUPPS you can legally use. Keep of the tank tracks tho.

Imber range is closed most of the year, Lavington range is normally closed one weekend a month for firing . as for the south side check out danno's info above

We followed your route from beginning to end, it was all passable today.

The bit from Durrington Down Farm (the beginning) to Orcheston area were 10/10 very very good
