Went for a 'pay and play' day and quite impressed by the improvements on routing and marshalling.
Last time I went, I was scared sh1tless by suicidal trials/trail bikers and, to be fair, 4x4 drivers flying over blind crests demonstrating true faith in God (or abject stupidity). Now there are one-way routes with patrolling marshalls on quads keeping folks in well-spaced convoys and offering instruction to the needy.
Routes are classified green or red. Don't be fooled. They are all potentially dangerous and concentration is required. That said, there are sections that are potentially damaging, so best to walk-it first or learn from the guy in front. There are a few drop-offs that would knock the tail off anything longer than a LR90.
Oh, and theres a few decent metre-deep water crosssings where you guys can engage in that much-loved sport of 'watch the guy with the WD40 wade out to his Landy V8'
There's a very sobering metal plaque half way up/down a tricky section comemorating the death of one unfortunate Disco driver.
Well worth a day-out (£25).
