hi all i have just had an email from offroadit in Penzance as soon as i have got numbers for the amount of people then i can get in touch with them and they should be able to match what they charge up country for a days off roading from what i have read on other post it is about £25-£30 and that will include green laning and off-roading at their centre . They can only have 5 vehicles for the greenlanes at any one time but could accomodate more at the centre so if i could have all names that are interested then we can then sort out dates then after.I only have 1 weekend off out of 4 but may be able to get a differant w/end off if the dates dont match
this is a copy of the email i have just recieved
Hi Richard
If you let me know how many in the group, I can give you some prices, complete day including green lanes and off-roading at the centre usualy costs £50 per vehicle (you can double drive etc) but I expect we can at least match what they pay depending on numbers.
Please be aware that a maximum of 5 vehicles are permitted on the green lanes at any one time but if you have more, I can accomodate the entire group at the centre.
if i could get some approx dates that linda and pops are thinking of coming down this way then i can try and sort something out around them thats if the devon crowd dont mind unless they know of anywhere at their end.
thanks Richard
We hope to be down Cornwall way mid march and then again maybe later in the summer, but dont organise it around us - go ahead as there so many of you jkeen for it and if we can come we will.
will see what the others say and if poss we may still be able to do it in march but if not let us know b4 you come down and perhaps we could meet up any way
matt,
did you get your surf locally. which garage did you get it from. i need one that might be able to fix my 4wd..that does not employ bandits!!
i know there is white horse out at pathfinder village and topsham motors but i dont know about xl autos.
i also need undersealing as so far i have been too lazy...you had that done??
cheers mat
hi, i bought mine in london when i was back home living with my parents. I'm not too keen on XL autos either but they do seem to know what they're talking about. I've found a local garage thats willing to work on surfs but they dont have any specialist knowledge, just very helpful and willing to work on anything, they've helped me out a couple of times on my surf and my peugeot.
I really dont like the guys out at topsham, only becuase every time i went out there when i was looking to buy a surf the mechanic kept saying 'the sales guy isn't here at the moment, can you come back tomorrow' well they obviously weren't going to care about after sales care if they couldnt even be bothered to try and sell me one!
The *cough* local toyota guys actually seem the most knowledgable and helpful but they're not as cheap. . .you could always try the South west 4x4 centre in Exeter. . .
Havent had undersealing done, not sure if i really need to, im sure someone will pop up and tell me otherwise though. . .
Hi Guys,
As co-owner of XL Autos and a Hi-Lux owner I would be very interested to know the general reticence about using our service. Try us out we won't bite and if you have any misgivings you can go straight to the top with your complaints i.e. ME!
On another note I would be up for a days off-roading as well.
