Thinking of going over to Devilspit in my unmodded Surf 3.0 SSRG with a mate in his Jimny and another in his Xtrail
I don't want to trash the Surf so not going to do anything too silly.
    Any precautions/recommendations?

If you have a dangly rear foglight, remove it or lose it.

Take a tow rope to recover the jimny and the x-trail.

I was thinking about fitting a tow rope harness to the Xtrail before it left tarmac and tucking it in the drivers window so I wouldn't have to find the tow point in the mud.
Don't know about the Jimny though - they may be very underpowered but I've heard they are reasonably competent off road.

I'll take off the fog lamp!

tis true and anyway if it does get stuck you can just pick it up and put it down on solid ground

good plan to fix tow ropes when on dry tarmac

don't worry about fog light, you're not a proper surfer until you've bashed it when off road lol
