Originally posted by LindaOk - to cure the Xmas excesses.... 28th Dec there is an offroad meet at Pingewood, Nr Reading, Berkshire.
It's open 9.30 am to 5pm and costs £20 per person. It's an 11acre site and not as hard or technical as the pit, but there is apparently lots of water and mud.
This event is run by Thames Valley 4x4 but they have told me they are happy to welcome anyone from this site... also if you have rugrats 14 or over there is a course where they can drive under your supervision.
see pics at http://www.yotasurf.co.uk/Forums/showthread.php?t=1792 unfortunately no surfs - but we can change that eh??
Let me know if you are interested.....
DIRECTIONS:- Turn off the M4 at Junction 11 and head SOUTH towards Basingstoke. At the first roundabout, take the 3rd exit signposted Three Mile Cross and Grazeley, then follow the road approx. 300yds and turn right into Hartley Court Road.
This road you follow for about 1.5 miles which takes you back over to the north side of the M4 again, continue along until you come to a bridge over a railway line with traffic lights. Go over the bridge and take the 1st turning right (Cottage Lane) The site entrance is approx. 100yds on the right hand side.Enjoying Life after Cancer

I finally got there to have a look today - its basically a 11 acre building site (lots of mud) which has had a JCB taken to it to build hills, holes, ponds, mud splashes etc... it looks quite wet (I could only see from outside the fence...) I think this place is just for a lttle play - rather than a big day out...so dont come expecting Devils Pit and you wont be disappointed...
Also - check my original post...I've corrected the directions...
Just to reiterate the main points - starts 9.30, costs £20 a car, tea/coffee on site but no food, plenty of water available, also Loos on site.Linda

M3 Junction 6, onto A339, then A33, its about the sixth roundabout but you will need to check that(this is the one you take the third exit coming from the M4) turn left then pick up the directions.
If you reach the M4 turn round and pick up the directions as stated, it ain't far from the M4 to the first roundabout.

Yeah M3 J6, 2nd exit off O signed A339, A33 Reading and town centre, next O 2nd exit.. You're now on the Basingstoke Ring road, take 3rd Exit (no O) A33 Reading and the follow this road for about 20 mins always following the Reading sign until you come to a O with a sign for 3 Mile Cross, Grazeley. Take 1st exit...(to Grazeley) if you miss it next O is only about 200 yards and is signed M4.Linda
