Easter Opening of the Roads through Imber.
The road through Imber from Warminster to Joan a
Gore’s Cross and the roads from Heytesbury to Imber and from Bratton to Imber will be open from 1800 hrs on Friday 29th March (Good Friday) until 1800 hrs on Wednesday 3rd April.
Ridgeway.
A £300,000 refurbishment of Ridgeway from Joan a Gore Cross to Crossing Bravo is
making good progress and should be complete by early April.
TRAINING
Training on the Plain is set to increase significantly during April with Warrior companies from 2 R WELSH and 3 YORKS on armoured manoeuvre training across the whole Plain in the first two weeks.
8 – 12 April Royal School of Artillery courses will combine on their largest training exercise (CROSSED CANNONS) during which AS90 and Light Gun live firing will take place.
15 – 19 April sees Challenger tanks from the Kings Royal Hussars together with Warrior and Bulldog companies from 3 YORKS manoeuvring across all areas in preparation for a 3 YORKS Battle Group exercise in the last week of April (the battalion takes over from 2 R WELSH as the Land Warfare Centre Battle Group in June).
22 – 26 Apr Land Warfare Centre Brigade and Close Reconnaissance courses (Exercises BLACK ADDER and BADGERS HOLE). Drivers are warned to
take particular care when approaching tank crossings and to be prepared for mud on the road.

Access to SPTA is regulated by Salisbury Plain Military Lands, Bulford, Larkhill and Imber Range Byelaws. Always comply with local signs and flags. Public rights of way located in Range Danger Areas are closed when red flags are flying.

The public are excluded except when
the roads are specifically opened.

Provisional dates for Christmas and New Year opening are 1600 20 Dec 13 – 0800 6th Jan 14.
1. Even when roads are open the village and buildings remain out of bounds to the public.
2. Dates may change if operational training needs dictate.

What Can You Do to Reduce Crime on Salisbury Plain?
If a crime is taking place call 999 and do not challenge the offenders.
Report suspicious activity to PLAINWATCH (01980 674700). The more information received the better e.g. time, place, vehicle registration, description of individuals and vehicles.
