Easter Opening of the Roads through Imber.
The road through Imber from Warminster to Joan a
Gore’s Cross and the roads from Heytesbury to Im
ber and from Bratton to Imber will be open from
1800 hrs on Friday 29
th
March (Good Friday) until 1800 hrs on Wednesday 3
rd
April.
TRAINING
1 Mechanised Brigade will continue its operational
pre- deployment training on Salisbury Plain until
Sunday 3 March. Ex PASHTUN DAWN, will take plac
e across the whole Plain and involve some 9000
troops, in excess of 550 tracked and wheeled ar
moured vehicles, and both fixed and rotary wing
aircraft. Large convoys, some in
excess of 80 vehicles, will operat
e on the training area and there
may be some disruption to civilian traffic at tank cr
ossings. For the period of
the exercise there will be
no access to the Larkhill Artillery
Ranges and permissive stone tracks in the Tilshead / Chitterne /
Shrewton triangle (Copehill Down area) will be closed
in the interest of public safety. Members of the
public using Salisbury Plain for recreation during this
period are required to keep to the public rights of
way. Military convoys leaving the Plain at the end
of the exercise may cause some disruption from
late afternoon on Sunday 3 March until Tuesday 5 March.
During the weeks 4 - 31 Marc
h normal levels of training will re
sume as local armoured units from
Tidworth and Bulford, and the Land Warfare Centre, deploy onto the area to conduct manoeuvre
training.

The public are excluded except when the roads are
specifically opened and access is then limited to
the roads from Warminster to Jo
an a Gore’s Cross, Bratton to Imber and Heytesbury to Imber.

What Can You Do to Reduce Crime on Salisbury Plain?
If a crime is taking place call 999 and do not challenge the offenders.
Report suspicious activity to PLAINWATCH (
01980 674700). The more information received the
better e.g. time, place, vehicle registra
tion, description of individuals and vehicles.
