              Bwahahaha.

Go for it 4Runner, you might wanna buy some spare drive shafts with that V8 in it if its got standard axles though.

Don't listen to them, its not bad, even though its not Japanese.

Fold all the windows down and have some real bugs-in-teeth motoring.

One good thing about the Landies, while they break halfshafts more often than I drink coffee, they are really quick to change - like 15 minutes if you are good at it (and believe me you will get good at it). Plus it can be easily changed on the trail. Watch out of the rear chassis - it rots quicker than you can say "oh damn, better get the welder out again.

Have fun with it, I'm with Tony on this one - It's not the Landies that are th problem, it's the bozos that generally drive them - you can change that one for the better.

                Cheers

Hey 4Runner ok I'll give you the V8 thing but when the chassis rots put the motor in a toyota. I think TonyN has one in a barn some where near Basingstoke.

PETE has aquired this vehicle to use as a toy, due to the fact he doesnt want to dirty his new surf again, he also used to drive lamerovers when he was in the army. MASH i think

Leave him alone there is a lot of thought went into this landie

                        What with

                        V8 172 hp = A beastie

Galvanised chaise which is good news = almost as good as a chassis

Roll cage = Definately a good idea and safer

                        Breathable diffs = sensible

Full race seats and harnesses = So safe

Cross ply tyres = Bwahahahahahaha you got me on that one

                            Ah , memories !!!
My first classic was a 1951 series 1 1600cc petrol Landie . Was owned by the East Sussex Fire Brigade . Full canvas back , tilt screen and Fire Engine red .
Great fun as I restored it as best I could on apprentice mechanic money .
Did snap a rear diff crown wheel !!
                            I have a picture somewhere .

I had 220hp when it had rings in the pistons, and the valve seats matched the valve shapes.

You need them to stay in the seats normally with LR springs!
