Not really a modification - more a minor discovery.
As my Gen 3 didn't come with a rear door spare wheel holder/frame thing I've been on the hunt for an underbody spare wheel winch as found on standard Hiluxes and some surfs.
Anyhow - I discovered that the Milners Spare Wheel Carrier for the standard Hilux will _also_ fit the Gen 3 with a bit of modification.
Basically the carrier bracket has three holes, two of which line up perfectly with existing holes under the surf and the third needs to be drilled. Once done, bolt it together and jobs a good un!
Thought folks might like to know.
