LSPV mod?

i thought that having 2 inch susp. lift the LSPV is not same height as factory, so braking less than it should. so i did this bracket,
what do you think?

Nope, it's one of the things that's supposed to be done as part of a suspension list.

I've just put 2" over springs on the back of mine. Will I need this mod or is it only if you do the springs and shocks?

2" springs lift the surf 2", i say yes, unless someone knows better (that i'm wrong)

i will measure in the morning, i cant remember what is it.
i will fit a drop bracket when i found one.
any one here got them?

Yeh, it's weird. Only that US site seems to do them.

Looks like I need to make some more P/H drop brackets and ARB end link plate kits.


Anyhoo, the straight part of the LSPV rod needs to be parallel to the rear axle for correct rear brake operation.
So however much you lift the chassis, the LSPV bracket needs to be lifted the same amount.
(See yellow line in photo below.)

So is it safe to say this should be measured and cut AFTER the panhard bracket is in place? I'd presume so as it will change the geometry. But presumption isn't always a win for me

No necessarily, the panhard rod just keeps the rear axle centralised to the body as the suspension moves up and down. The P/H drop bracket keeps the axle central under the body if longer springs are fitted.
Without the drop bracket, the body shifts over towards the passenger side and the driver's side rear wheel sticks out more from the body.
So you can raise your LSPV bracket anytime.

The kits I make cost £48 plus post. It includes the drop bracket, two plates to drop the ARB end links down to prevent the bush's brackets snapping, and all nuts/bolts.

Ah, right. Although I understand the reasoning behind the drop bracket...I just thought as the angle would be slightly different, with vs without, it would make a slight difference. But of course...it's just aiming to get it back to the normal angle.

Vince, £48 sounds very reasonable to me. I would send the cash now if I hadn't just bought something else. Can I send it to you at the end of the month? No rush to have them made, either

Also, while I have your attention...will I need to extend the front ARB links?

I'm planning on buying a front drop kit (balljoint, diff and ARB spacers) but none of those kits supply anything for the links. And I've seen the link extended in a few threads.

Never seen extended front ARB links, are you sure you weren't looking at some Quick disconnects?

The front ARB spacers just space the ARB away from the chassis to clear the front prop when the diff is dropped.

Might be remembering the fronts incorrectly. Someone had extended his using a female, double ended, long nut. Or something
