  • 2" body lift gen 3 1996

Has anybody done a 2" body lift on a gen 3 if so where did you get the kit from? Was there anything extra needed and was it a simple enough job?
    Thanks joe.

Yes - there are plenty of threads via the search function.

I used the Rancho 2" lift kit from Roughtrax:
    http://www.roughtrax4x4.com/?doc=16&cid=1265&vid=1800

no additional requirements if you just use the kit, but if you are changing the wheels & tyres, or / and adding a body lift, you may have to do some 'trimming'. Tony N did all the work for mine.
Take your words, put them on a plate, add a little bit of humble pie, and eat them!

I believe the OP was asking about a body lift, not a suspension lift.

Whatever, it's still been covered many times (as recently as two weeks ago) and can be found via the search facility.

          doh! Indeed.

Well Tony N did my 2" Body Lift as well - so perhaps if you ask nicely with a brown envelope full of cash in hand...

            I have.

            I used the 4Crawler kit.

Also added 2" bumper lift brakets,
            2" Steering extension brakets.
            Transfer box short shifter.

While I was at it I replaced the fuel filler pipe, and engine.

            Hope this helps.
            More Lift.
            More Tyres.
            More Engine.

                From the us?

                About a Week.

How long it sits in customs is another matter!!!

My old 1" 4Crawler kit is going spare (body blocks, steering column and Bumper lift for a 3rd gen)

The chap that runs it is a bit miserable, but the kit is good...

for 3rd Genners wanting the transfer kit (Hilux surf is now listed, I got him to add that with my measurements) if you want to keep the "return spring" to keep the factory transfer box springiness, you need to cut the kit up a bit..
