As you have no gas left in the system you could just take the compressor end cap off and give it a good clean.Watch out for the o ring
Failing that you could give it a flush through with wd40 or similar.
To check it is pumping without any specialist kit you could make up some fairy liquid/water mix like for blowing bubbles with and smear some over the outlet and turn the crank on the air con compressor by hand,if you get big bubbles then you know it is pumping.

hi all just an update. it works! well kind of managed to finally get the tank full of air but then it decided to leak out of the jubilee clipped ends as i ordered the size to big so wasnt a great fit but will sort that problem out and have put self malgamating tape around the barbed hose end to pad it out as machine mart told me to use 5/16 barbed end with 8mm ID hose which is a loose fit but will write up properly with pics and all that when works and possible vid! from the time it takes to flick the switch on the dash to get out walk to the back and look at the dial the A/C compressor has got the 2.5 gal tank to 60 psi then starts to leak ha! after a bit of tighening i got it to 100 psi but need the right clips. its meant to cut off at 125 psi! anyway nearly done so watch this space

hi all managed to get the leaks sorted and all is good. jut got to get the oil / water separator and it should be complete but it takes about 10 seconds to fill teh 2.5 gallon tank to 125 psi and about 20 seconds to get my 275/75/R16 (32") from 25psi to 35 psi it is just as good as a tire inflator at a garage.!!

just some pics to go with the pencial drawing i did

this is the in line oiler pre pump to keep it lubbed just got to figure out how to get the think oil in the tiny hole? syringe i think is the way forward. the beginning of the pipe is in the engine bay and will have an air filter on it as it can suck air from the engine air filter as the v8 must be too strong for it ha

this is the pump itself with the top pipe as the inlet and the bottom one as the outlet. the nice pink wire is the wire from the relay to engage the magnetic clutch on the air con pump to make it work

just a pic of the hose going from the front of the truck to the tank at the back and my lovely SAS leaf spring ha oh and the diff breathers that arent connected

this is the non return valve and the wires above are from power source to relay and then to the magnetic clutch

the tank is set under the truck (next pic) and this pipe comes from the tank throught thge body (wet to be sealed) and i have used 10mm copper pipe so there is no swell of hose and get an accurate reading as there is a pressure gauge and the 95 psi on / 125psi off pressure switch and realy for it in the grey housing. this is the clever bit and needs the electric to work. behind is my 1000 LPG tank

this is the 2.5 gallon tank and fitted to the underside of the body on the bottom is the drain cock so depressurise it after every use and at right side is the 145psi blow off as the tank is SWL 150 psi. there are 6 outlet holes on the tank 1 air inlet 2 pressure gauge and pressure switch 3 drain cock 4 safety blow off valve 5 outlet 6 outlet

sorry for the dodgy exhaust still havent managed to get around to properly finishing it off ha!

there are 2 outlet pipes i have one either side and has a snap connector. need to coil up and safely secure to the chassis or body. and the tire inflator / deflator with male snap connector to connect to either side of the truck

just put a rocker switch on the dash to turn the whole think on and off guess you can have this where you like

Well done mate looks ideal. Why do it? Because you could

Buying a wee 12v pump from paddocks would have been boring.

yeah its been a pain but i think its worth it! the speed it inflates tires is like going the garage better than a pump and hopefully wont cease! plus you can run air tools off it

could be a good add on for vince when he does the conversions.
