    Apologies for going slightly off topic but is there anything minor I could do to waterproof the engine - Waterproofing connections, Batteries etc?

          Aye, body lift. For a 2.4 you will need radiator drop brackets as well as bumper lift brackets. Personally, I wouldn't trust nylon blocks.

                      your lookin at about £45 inc the bolts

                      thay are what we call no frills...... ie rough cut but stright cut. cut on a dropsaw and maye a bit of dirt oil ect as the poly bar as been in the garage along time
                      as shown in pic after all there under the car
