As long as you dont alter the chassis you can do what you like with a surf body, on anything with a seperate chassis, its the chassis that carries the ID.

When i gave up on the shortening, and thought about dropping a weird body on it instead, i was told the body is irrelevant as far as the ID goes but when attaching it to the chassis i was only allowed to alter the body mounts on the chassis, and to be reallys sure of retaining my ID it would be better to build a subframe that bolted to my original mounts and bolt the new body to that.
