  • 3rd gen Winch Bumper

Been busy this weekend making a bumper for my 3rd gen. All built and designed by myself. i know the welding ain't great but it will do what it's suppose to do. What do you guys think! I'm well pleased with it as have never really worked with metal, only other time was when i was at school.

    Standard bumper removed

Templated up (yes i know theres only half a template lol)

    Winch plate made up

    Bumper parts cut

    Bumper made up

    Priming up

Once it's all paint up i'll put up a pic of the finish product.

This is just an observation not a criticism but will it not restrict air flow to the bottom of rad.
If its not broke don't fix it.

not really as the bottom part of the rad is uncovered plus the top section.

Righto, to say you've never done it before it looks a very neat & tidy fit.

I had the same thought about the air restriction, but maybe its just the angle of the pics. Could you incorporate a low baffle into the design to help push the air up to the rad if necessary...?
And as for not being that good, if all the things I wasn't 100% on were that good, I'd be pretty chuffed!!!! nice work.

Nice work mate, love to see shed built, it's the only way.
Are you returning the bumper at an angle underneath?

Did you cut the sheet with a plasma?

Jigsaw nice, how thick is that sheet 2mm or 3mm? What jig blades did you use and how well did they last?

I take it the brackets are 6mm or there abouts?

the blades are dewalt cuts between 2.5 and 6mm easy. for all the cuts i used 2 blades. the sheet is 2.5, the angel is 5mm, the plate is 6 and the upright supports are 4mm.

final product. all that is left is to cut holes for spots, fogs and indicators.

                      i think it looks wicked!

                        very clean lines.
                        It looks good.

You could make it interesting by mounting non-standard indicators, round or something from another car. Then it would really look custom.
