Because the 2.4 doesn't have a radiator cap, the 3.0 does. The 2.4 is a piggy to get airlocks out of at the best of times, also the lower 1/2 of the rad shroud is different, on the 3.0 its all one piece apart from the little strip round the bottom of the fan. the 2.4 you will lose the whole bottom 1/2 of the shroud, with ruins airflow through the rad, on a truck that has issues if it gets hot, so not a good idea.4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...
