is the lift to give the wheels more room under the arches when in the cross axled ruts?
Yes mate, the last time out the rear wheels were flexing so much they jammed in the arches on the really extreme stuff. Hopefully this will give us enough.

    • Diff removed and locker fitted. Hopefully will do us well at Col Glen Comp next weekend.

Quite a few parts are not reused.

No mate that bench is in a friends workshop. It looked like rain so we took the indoor working option.

Hope to give it a good work out this weekend when we hea to Colglen in Dunoon for a two day comp.

                • good work as ever! i need to make one up too! might have to copy the design! hehe! well beef it up a bit! as the zuk is a bit lighter than the surf!

see you have your work cut out for the next couple of weeks with the mod list! oh BTW what size and gauge was the pipe you used for the roll cage?

have you had a chance to test the locking rear diff? what is it like to drive on the road and can you hear it kick in?

The anchor would work with the surf no bother, you could make a longer version and if you want and/or use the 50mm x 3.2mm tube. That tie bar in the picture is 14mm solid round.

I use 32mm x 3.2mm wall on the Jimny cages and 50mm x 3.2mm on disco sized trucks. The bigger tube would look good on the Surf mate.

The locker is excellent, it works by being locked all the time and only unlocks on tight turns and roundabouts. It clicks/ratchets when unlocking, hard to hear and by no means noisy.

Clutch also new this week and has no miles on it yet.
I have removed painted and refitted the cage.
