suspension lift - whats else is needed?

yeah its the old 3,4,5 triangle if 3 is increase to 3.2 then 5 is at touch more s 5.12 but if it stays 5 then the triangle will twist slightly

with +2" springs the distance between the chassis and the axel increase by 2" which will make the hypotenuse increase in length (lateral control rod) which it doesnt so it will shift sideways or the springs will contract to stop the shift sidways ??

Yeah, the hypotenuse will increase in length, but not by 2"!!!

I worked it out ages ago for a 3" lift and it was something <10mm, assuming the Panhard was horizontal to start with.

Just worked it out again for 2". It's approx 8mm lateral shift for a 2" lift. If you are seeing a 2" shift, seriously, check your truck because something is bent.

i've not mentioned owt about the step by step #"doing the job" as these guys are still in the "what's involved" stage, if yall want i can do it as i did it with whatever pics i took or can take, just did'nt want to spend an evening typeing it all up and then get the "sod that" routine as as happen'd before, doing all this is quite straightforward and dont cost an arm & leg, especially if your handy with a spanner and a FBH

the pannard rod! as he said dont just cut it and add 2" it'll be way out, you have three options depending on if you have a welder (arc or mig) you can either buy a pannard rod drop bracket (from Bushy) or an adjustable rod (from "funky bunch mark the FAB" stien) or wot id did, when the rear lifts done, shocks on etc i cut the rod about central (it's hollow) fitted each end on well each end, measured the gap (which was about 15mm i think), found some steel round bar that was a nice fit and hammered it into each end of the rod, re fitted the rod and checked it was ok, and tack welded the bar to the rod, remove it and fill with weld and grind smooth so it looks like one bar and thats it,
theres a few things you'll need to do when doing this lift sus and body but nowt major,

will have a look to be fair i might have exagerated as if the wheels where 1" in from the wheel arches when balanced with the lift one is nearly level and the other has shifted in. will check dims accurately. what dims were you working off out of interest which check on the truck to see if all is well or anything is out of line!

I made assumptions (too lazy to go out to the truck ) that the rod started horizontal, the upper pivot went up 2" and the rod length is 36". Might be a bit shorter but will make little difference as the lift is so small.

Certainly won't get no "sod that" routine from me may just take me a while to getting round to doing it! Don't want to cause you loads of work / trouble so i am sure that any picks you already have with any useful tips would suffice. Like i say no rush.

No problem mate, was'nt being funny and i'm sure you know what i mean, only too happy to help, a few times in the past i've been email'd or PM'd asking for "how'd you do this ot that" and after an evenings typeing and adding pics just got " sod that! too complicated" fair enough but no "cheer's for that anyway" etc,
i certainly dont pretend to be "expert" on this stuff, just how i did what i've done with a lot of help from the guy's on this forum, and if i can pass it on well great,
i'll take a few more pic's today and stick em on here later, was thinking of doing a proper write up on "word" so i can copy and paste as opposed to keep typeing it over and over with all the pics on a photobucket file so you can link to em, aint much good at computer stuff tho

Know what you mean! I am a software engineer which normally is taken to mean that i am able to fix / cure every software / computer problem known to man! Many times i have spent evenings recovering peoples data / fixing there computer to find that they subsequently buy a new one a week later!!!
