  • hows it lifted?

    hi guys,
still quite new here, and to surfs, so forgive my ignorance.
just picked mine up at the weekend and its apparently lifted 3".

is that likely to be suspension or body or a combination of the two?
how can a noob like me tell by getting under it for a look?

    thanks for your time.

i would say its been lifted by fitting the landcruiser hd j80 springs that give it an instant 3" lift.Take a look at the springs and see what colour they are and also see if there is a spacer fitted on top of the spring also to give some lift

If it was my truck i would crank the torsion bars up so the front sits level with the rear, but some people prefer the sloping look

hmm. id prefer it level myself but thought that maybe the front springs were soft or something. i looked at a few before buying this one and some seemed were lower in the rear.

ill start tinkering when i pick up a service manual

          thanks again.

            Re

Mine seems to look the exact same!

I don't have any spacers etc. I think just uprated springs and tweaked torsion bars!

These are old pics, have done a few mods since.

New 31 inch grabbers (makes a HELL of a difference) and polished wheels etc.

These tyres are shite, Avon road tyres 28 inch I think!

theres no springs on the fronts of the second gen surf. The suspension is done via torsion bars
Just follow these instructions as if you had replaced the torsion bars in order to adjust them
