Now I'm snookered, I didn't realise they cost so much, I hadn't budgeted enough. Snookered? I have an idea, if anyone is in to their snooker check out the swaps.

i have got a 1.5" body lift blocks here brand new but no bolts or bumper brackets. It will cost £4.20 postage so if you want to make an offer on it and then buy some bolts for it.I'm sure if your going to Exeter to meet up with supersurf and baz then you can make the 2 bumper plates easy enough

Deal struck for a back up plan of 1.5" if I can't find a 2" lift kit, I'll go ahead & get the bolts & make up the bumper brackets etc, I'll also get the vehicle partially stripped ready for the lift, I'll take the nudge bar off & leave it here, I'll also take off the lower rad shroud so we wont need to worry about that, so I think the things we'll have to do are loosen the steering column linkage & the fuel filler pipe & take off the front bumper, I'll also start spraying the bolts/nuts with WD40.

        Anything else?

        Cheers

Just thoought of something else, will we need to do something to the front anti roll bar bearing in mind we'll probably do the front suspension lift at the same time?

Many thanks for all the advice thus far, you are making this a much easier task to undertake.

          Cheers

It looks like I'll be doing a 1.5 inch lift so I'm picking up the bolts tomorrow, I've looked at the rad cowl but can't see how it comes apart, I wanted to remove the bottom part in advance to save time when it comes to doing the lift, I'll get the bumper brackets made up tomorrow too.

there should be a bolt each side about half way down holding the 2 halves together and fixing it to the rad. There are 2 clips then that need taking off that hold the joining flaps in place. The flaps are normally held in place alsowith a plastic lip once the clip is off.You will then have to prise the 2 sections apart and then lift the lower half of shroud out.I'm not sure if its just held in by a bit of rubber or if there is a small lip on the bottom to hold it in place.Hope this explains it a bit if not someone else wikll explain better

Hi Bazzo, we can postpone it if you like, I really don't mind & it would give me another chance at some 2 inch (50mm) spacers, I bought some 1.5 inch spacers as a back up so it doesn't really matter either way, if you still want to go ahead this weekend that's ok too.

                        Cheers

I'm quite pleased with myself today, I made up the plates for the bumper, I've given the bolts a good soaking with WD40, I've taken off the nudge bar & the bottom shroud, a little bit at a time & rest in between & I'm not too bad, I didn't get time to pick up the bolts plus I was hoping I'd find some 2 inch spacers, if I buy bolts for the 1.5 inch then find a 2 inch set I'll need more bolts, I could just buy the longer bolts & cut them down for the 1.5 inch set if I don't find a 2 inch set.

You'll be ok to have the bolts for a 2" an just use them on a 1.5" still mate.

They wont foul on anything an it gives you the option to up to a 2" if you want.

I think that's probably the best option although I won't have it done twice, if I can't get some cheap 2 inch spacers before the 1.5s go in then they'll stay in.

I really dont mind doing it this weekend....

My problem is that i have my kids every other weekend, and im off on holiday over xmas and new year. So this may well be the last possible weekend before xmas and therefore new year!!!

Im sure i should be able to manage it, one of my guys will be in on saturday anyway so if we really get stuck we will have an extra pair of hands.
