Yes thanks Andy, thought I'd mentioned that in an earlier thread.

Took in some A-roads on the way in today. Lockup on, OD off, 1500rpm in 3rd at 30mph. Pulls reasonably well with a light foot up to around 45mph. Select OD, smooth shift to OD in lockup, and around 1650rpm.

Down selecting from OD to 3rd at around 40mph was smooth too.

There's something in that ECT write up about the ECU monitoring the speed.

Could you knock up an auxillary speed sensor and just use that to blot out the lock up signal below a certain speed????? Or am I being a bit errr 'simplistic' lol

That way, if you forget about the switch it won't matter?????

Yeah, there's two speed sensors and the ECU polls them to ensure they're the same.

The way I'm doing it, if you forget the switch it wont matter. Its not a latching switch, its an electronic latch.

However, I can read the speed (its just a pulse train) and use a comparator to set points at which 'things' happen. Tis another way of doing it. A digital speedo calibrated to GPS to compensate for wheel size is also possible.

          Errrrr, wot?

Why not just invent teleportation and be done with it lol

Something tells me you are feeling a little 'enthusiastic' about this one mate!!!!

... Hmmmm... if I connect pin C3 to the input of B11, and invert the output before summing it with the output of the secondary speed sensor...

Don't know if this has already been suggested, (I'll admit, I switched off mentally after around, ooh, say post.......................... ..

one, ), but wouldn't your best option just be to invert the ECT setup?

Uhh.. I cant believe you'd suggest something so simplistic mate! Maybe you really did move into hairdressing...

Simplicity is my middle name. There's less for the f*ck up fairy to ruin that way. If it's just using pulses as you mentioned above, I'd just adapt the timing, personally. No need for overrides or such, and you know that everything is still working as it was intended, just earlier than it would normally.

Oh, alright then. Simplicity would be my middle name if I could stop arsing around with stuff and making it ten times more complex than it needs to be. They do say it's the thought which counts though.

Its the kind of thing I got used to Project Managers saying Matt.

You know, people who talk first then think about the technicalities later?

Ah, but neither should one create a highly technical approach first and then have to trim it back to bare minimum afterwards. Start simplistic and then add the necessary extras if or when needed. Not that I'm suggesting you may have taken the overkill approach, mind........................

Do I need to simplify it for you mate?

So... you press the switch, and a little man in the wire runs along to a chip (full of little men with calculators)...
