  • ARB disconnects

Been reading the threads about these and fancy a bit more cheap articuation. Did anyone make their own just using the tube and R-clip method or is anyone selling fabbed ones? Stein? Anyone?

Why not just take the arbs off altogether.
Did you get your shocks from Neil?

2 reasons really 1) if I can have the option of keeping them for road use and disconnectig them for offroad that sounds great and 2) It gets around either not telling your insurers and possibly getting knobbled for an undeclared mod if you have an accident or telling the insurers and having your premiums go up.

Haven't seen Neil yet, going to organise getting them soon.

Anti-roll bar. These are at both ends of your Surf (and most other vehicles) they stop the Surf rolling so much in corners. However they also restrict the amount of articulation you have when offroading so many remove them for this reason. Search by ARB and you wil fine lots of threads about them.

              Dammit!

Me and Spanners came up with a similar solution to the posted disconnect idea.

Is it 'cut one drop link, and sleeve it with tube, using a pin to hold tube in place'?

now I'm on BFG ATs with their softer sidewall than my previous tyres, the missing front ARB is more noticeable. I was thinking of re-bushing the front ARB with the ProComp kit and making a disconnect, and refitting it.

Mind you, my tyres should last longer with the current 'no arbs' setup as I go VERY slowly round roundabouts!

Anti Roll Bar, keeps the front from leaning over when cornering etc, stabilizes's it, also called stabilizer bar, all cars have em, removeing em lets the front wishbones (suspension) drop that bit more but makes for a rolly ride,
