  • Weld front Diff

I now run manual hubs and have been toying with welding the front Diff.
    Has anyone done this?
If you were fitting a locker it would be a rear one so, Is it worth doing?
Do the gains in extreme conditions merit doing it?
    Any down sides?

That actually sounds like a cracking idea mate. Ive seen trucks with welded rear diffs but they aint too clever on road, but as you say with manual hubs it wont hurt to weld the front one.

Only problem i can see is that if you come acrooss dry hard ground youll have to keep getting out and unlocking your hubs again incase of wind-up. Worthy of consideration though, itll give far more grip and minimum of 3 wheels will be turning at anyone time.
