TBR do the ARB one which is a black version of that one in lamans terms!

    Its £600
But if its something you want, then hey!!

Personally i'd get some stickers from Apache on your list, Nothing says 'this is my truck, i built it' then getting some personal stickers on it!

All the time on Ebay people buy these 10" body lifted heaps of crud with no idea of how bad they are, just that its a cool monster, When its your time an money thats gone into turning a stock truck into something that turns heads, thats a rewarding moment!!

You can get steel and Ally TJM bumpers & bars similar to that, but they ain't cheap for an ally one you're lookin at the best part of a gand, and for a steel one i think around the 700-800 quid mark. Also, they are imported fom OZ so might take a month or two to get here. If that's the way you decide to go try www.4x4toys.co.uk, or www.TJMproducts.co.uk

On the subject of windin the torsion bars - was at my mates garage when a guy from Hill n ditch turned up for an MOT. He said not to wind the torsion bars to 2" as some of the guys that go there have had theirs break, he recommended to only wind up 1.5"? Anyone heard of this?
How can I be lost when I've got no where to go

Dunno - Ive only read one report of a broken torsion bar an it was from bundubasher - whos surf does African trips!!

I wouldnt overly worry about it myself, I wouldnt mind uprated ones because of the weight of that damn bumper of mine, but stock should be fine!

Thought I had never read that anywhere?

Procomp ES9000 shocks +3" (on the back end)

                  Period.

Mind you, the front will be bouncy, so you might want to get some ball joint spacers and not wind up the torsion bars so much. Offset this by throwing away your rear ARB and not bothering with drop brackets and adjustable panhard rod - do the f*cking maths you lot for christ's sake! ITS NOT NECESSARY!!!!

Complete the deal with some nice 10" wide steel wheels so your new 33s dont look madly tall and narrow.

                      am i reading that wrong?
any lift on the back would ideally need some adjustment on the panhard rod, else the axle will be out of alignment.

No your not reading it wrong mate.

Ive seen on dannos surf that had a 4" sus lift on the back that the axle was massivly out of line. Ive got a 2" lift and its not that noticable. the LC80 springs are approx 3" i think. So they might be a middle ground of being able to get away with it. Im not sure. Im not going for the LC80 springs, I know stormforce has one rubbing a shock. The trucks dont sit level with them. Im not sold that they are going to be good long term.

Ohhh am i gunna get killed for sayin that

ok, get the point... i didn't bother doing the panhard rod on mine either... but it was noticeable...

you really should though... if you're a by the book man!

and it might confuse the fella when you go to get the tracking done!

Cant remember what I worked it out to, but I certainly aint going through it all again!

Think it was something around 6mm shift for a 3" displacement, and doing it proved the maths (!) Depends how central it was in the first place though, and the angle your panhard rod was at in the first place.

I dont have an extended panhard rod or a drop bracket. From what has happened to me and others, there are good reasons for not using a drop bracket if you use your truck heavily offroad as it acts as a force multiplier on the mounting points and will eventually break. (I know of three examples) This probably isn't an issue on the road where sudden high levels of lateral shock aren't an issue.

The back wheels on my truck appear by eye to stick out the same on each side. I've tried measuring, but when you have fat nobbly tyres, you're wasting your time, plus there will always be lateral movement of the suspension due to movement in the trailing arms etc etc.

Anyway folks, your argument isn't with me, its with Pythagoras, and he's not here to defend himself.

                            Doh, some people!

Here you go Slug man / Rod.

Draw a line 3ft long and horizontal. Now lift one end by 2" (rotated around one fixed end). How far (horizontally) does the end you lifted move? Thats your shift.

...Still get an extended panhard rod though, it looks bling and proper. Especially painted up with a nice threaded section and a couple of big fat adjustment nuts on it, and painted up nice

... Oh and it'll keep your axle central
