Just cut the metal for the other side so it's ready to be welded up
Bit of that red lead paint stuff and a coat of the finest hammerite money can buy.
Nik it took me about 8 hours to get it all sorted.( Hours here and there, mainly during work, ) Most of it was measuring and measuring again!! Cutting it all took a while and then there was the drilling the holes. Welding it was the easiest, left it in the work, came back and it was done
Dare say it could be done faster but hey, there's always tomorrow
Did you use any padding to stop ware on the chasis ? also how well does it grip to the chasis as would have thought with a bolt top and bottom it would move a little . sorry for the questions as i am doing mine soon.......With alot of help
No never used and padding. Once it's clamped to the chassis i don't think it'll move anywhere. It's solid. Had the high lift jack onto it and it never moved. So,so far so good.
Thats them both done now painted and fitted, even got hold of some of the non slip tape
excellent job.
just a thought for anyone else, non slip tape go to a local bike/skateboard shop they sell gripper tape for the board tops. i put some on my work van 4 years ago to protect the roof from the ladders and on the sill tops, works well and its cheap
