  • Thule Roof Rack- Am I being a tool?

    Hi, I've recently purchased a 2nd gen 1993 2.4 TD Hilux Surf.
I also just bought a Thule roof rack off Ebay for it.
It's got the 750 feet on it but I'm struggling to fit it. The lugs seem to stop the doors closing, am I doing something completely stupid?
    Here's a listing of what I bought....

Thule areo bars for Toyota Hilux ( 1998 Onwards - Double Cab - but fits all). In very good condition. Thule quick fitting system. 3x Thule cycle carriers included.

As there have been many many questions... some more information... from the Thule website.

    Gutterless Foot Pack

    Part #: 750
    UK RSP: £61.50

A quick search seems to show that a Toyota 4 runner of your year needs the Thule Fitting kit 1085

Yup I'm being a tool, thanks Dave!

I've just ordered a set from www.roofbox.co.uk. They have a huge list of vehicles and suitable roof racks including all the surfs

        guys, sorry to reopen this..

I have a 3rd gen, and have found lots of places that do a Thule kit.

However, what I am not clear on is, does the Thule radid fix kit fit into the roof channels?

I know RoughTrax has a kit to fit the 3rd gens, but I already have Aero bars and I dont really want to have to buy them again as part of a kit.

I want to use the channels, buts cant work out for the life of me if these Thule kits use the channels or just fit on the side of the roof.

        Any help much appreciated.

        Rob
