  • Front bumper plastic

I'm thinking of removing the bottom section of my front bumper(plastic bit) and leaving the chrome part with the indicators intact attatched.

Is it an easy job?? Due to the standard wide arch as well, does this cause complications with the end cap at the arch???

    Cheers.

I've recently put a new front bumper on mine and found I've got to drill new holes to fit the wide arch covers. To get the lower section off I found it would be easier to take the hole bumper off as you can see all the bolts and a good soaking in WD40 before hand goes a long way.

The brackets on mine (pre-facelift) hold both parts on the same bracket so would need grinding off or look stupid with bits of bracket hanging down, but i'm contemplating doing it anyway as it was damaged offroad at christmas.

Just wondering what i'd do with the end cap with the wide arches as it covers end of chrome and end of plastic lower bumber. Has the chrome got a finished edge?? Dont want to be left with a razor blade

That would be great to see whats in at the back of it.

Better get you undercrackers on or you'll be a fender offender and scare the neighbours.

OK hope these are some help, i had no room to lay it down, looks like the chrome bumper has nice rounded edges and will look OK, the end brackets will be a bit visible and you'll have to trim the extended arches too
Rotated the upright pic, makes yer neck ache looking at it like that,

Cheers for that Ian. Much appreciated.

Looks like i'll be able to remove the bottom plastic bit and throw away the end caps as long as the edge on my chrome is ok.

Mark, i'd love to make up a front bumper, but if i remove the plastic on this one it would be a start to saying good by to old one Gonna make a winch bracket up as well to sit under chrome bumper then it can be a foundation for the full thing.
Then the fiancee wouldn't notice so much as it evolves

Your welcome smithy, you got me thinking of ditching it now, not for a winch but i'd like to fit an extra water cooling rad under there, i'll have a see what it looks like
