Thanks for the drawing and comments mate, I think i tried every combination on those switches and none of em worked, i'll have another go when its a bit cooler, i was perspireing buckets sitting in there yesteray and the truck was in the garage, I'll try and draw the details (on the back of the switch) and get my son to scan it as im useless at computer stuff, I think the switching arrangement is marked on there, Its no big thing though regarding the light as its impossible to leave it on accidentaly, its on the ign circuit and it makes such a row, Ian

So what's the verdict on the difference they make to the engine
bay temp, Ian? Not that I'm asking because Vince has set me off
thinking about bonnet fans and vents, (again). No, just curious,
      honest.

It's just a bog standard one, honestly. Normal height, gunmetal grey,
and missing a rear arch extension. If you want, I'll dig out the ones
the wife took when I first got her, (the Surf, not the wife). But trust
          me, you will be underwhelmed.

Edit: Okay, you have a pic now. This is when we just got her. Since
then, 31x10.50x15's have gone on, rear nearside arch extension is gone,
and the shocks and springs have been replaced. Plus the rear deflectors
have been taken off. Other than that, all the other work has been internally
and in the engine bay. Forgot to add, sidesteps and spotlights have also
          been removed.

            Looks really smart dude!
That colour would have been my second choice, especially with the black tinted glass!

p.s. one of your wheel centre caps is missing.

They both are at the rear. Glad you reminded me. I keep meaning to take
the front ones off as well since seeing how nice Dave's looks without them.

Well after a few runs here and there it definatly seems a bit cooler, on a long run the temp rises to 90% or just over, before it was about 95ish, it does seem to take longer to get hot though, i think the air flow is improved a lot and thats without the AC fan on or the vent fans, (might not be too cleaver in the winter, but i can always block the vents if its really cold) all in all i'm glad i did it,
PS just seen the pic of your truck, very nice and the right colour as well

Nice to hear it's made a noticeable difference. Can hardly imagine
a Surf taking too long to warm up, even in winter. I'll be moving the
bonnet fan/vent bit up the todo list then.

Wahey! The grey surfs are staging a quiet revolution against the two-tone brigade.

Here's mine, in his natural setting.

We're so quiet because we KNOW we have the best colour.

Ian, mind if I do a brainpick? You did the front fan switching mod.
Whereabouts did you run the new cables? Trying to find some route
that doesn't run next to something hot.

Managed to think of a use for those bubble bars yet?

Hi Matt, You've probably sorted this by now, I'm a bit late! sorry mate have'nt looked at this thread for a while, i ran my wire's forward to the front bulkhead then along behind the battery and along and thriught the firewall (passenger side) as i was running them up into the roof console, but you can go either way (that suits you) they run quite near the top hose but not touching it so should be ok,
Have'nt got round to doing something with those bubble tubes yet as i've been tied up with these garage door's, i really need to get em finished then block up two window's so a mate of mine can render the whole garage/shed before the weather breaks, Dont worry mate i'll find some thing to use em on in the truck
Just noticed attached thumbnails are missing, must be when the site went down?
