  • Is my surf lifted already?

I drove past a Surf today and thought mine looked higher, it may have been my perspective, but I'm not sure I don't have a reference to compare.

Ok so it has 31x10.5x15s on so this may help, but there is quite a large gap between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch.

Would anyone mind measuring . . road to top of tyre, top of tyre to wheel arch and the total - road to wheel arch on theirs, whether they're standard or lifted and if lifted what size.

I was going to get some 2" overs but if it is raised already I'd be wasting my time and money going for 2".

Thanks in advance, I'll go and measure mine now.

Oh one more thought, the wide arch kit is this flush with the bottom of a standard arch, would this make a difference to measurements?

    OK I have . . .

Both tyre heights are 29 1/2 inches.

Front gap tyre to arch is 5 1/2, total is 35, obviously.

Rear gap tyre to arch is 4 3/4, giving a total of 34 1/4.

(over 1/2 tank of gas and spare on rear carrier)

    How does this compare?

Is there a better place to measure?

Anyway thanks to anyone who replies.

measure from the wheel rim edge to wheel arch edge. Plenty of threads on here to give you sample dimensions.

You've a three inch lift rear with the Landcruiser springs yeah?

          That would make mine standard!

What have you done at the front?

            Yep.
I just wound the standard torsion bars up at the front for now, probably get some new ones and some shocks around xmas time.

I would reckon 3", maybe 4". What size tyres do you have?

Those tyres would give you an inch of lift on their own over standard.

The overall diameter of your tyres are an inch bigger than standard, so the measurment from the ground to the roof of your truck will be one inch higher than standard.
If your measurment of 38" is from the ground to the wheel arch, then you've most likely got a three inch lift.
