Just looking at the options on this, was wondering if it is possible/better to go for a larger vent in the centre rather than 2 side ones, or will this cause problems with whatever's underneath it or the bonnet structure?

I guess having it in the centre might foul the head or air intake/turbo pipes. Any thoughts?

    May look awful as well....

Another possibility may be to get one of the PACET bonnet mounted extractor fans - used on Landrovers quite extensively and actually sucks the hot air out and therfore improves airflow through the radiator.

      Cheers

It looks cool, but a 'scoop' does just that, scoops air into the enginebay. o.k. if you have an intercooler or a ramair intake setup, but to expel hot engine air the 'scoop' needs to be mounted with the opening facing the windscreen, so air rushes in through the grille through the rad and out through the vent.

sorry to swear, my local halfrauds are knocking out imprezza vents for 25 quid instead of 45... they look a bit tat, and you will need to open up the holes....

My Lux got me home from cornwall without a problem, even though I was stuck in traffic for hours and the sun was blazing down. I don't want to tempt fate but it took 11 hours to get home and the temp did not move, even tough I know the guage is as usfull as a surfboard in a mill pond.

                      vented bonnet

I vented mine by cutting two slots with an air nibbler and covered them with rubber bumper trims, modded with air flow holes

                      haven't noticed much difference
