i have had my 3.0 surf now for 2 happy trouble free years apart from a cold start issue i can not figure out just yet,
It is a great truck , but on wednesday my girlfriend called me to tell me the radiator was spewing out brown goo from the reservoir
I checked and found the atf has mixed with the water , so i have ordered a new rad and was hoping to just flush the gearbox , but after some research i see on here that the box is probably knackered too, my question is , how long does it take the water to damage the plates, i have drained the gearbox and am waiting for the rad , it will take a few days to get here as i am in the shetland isles , and if the box has had it can anyone recomend a good rebuild service ?
we are a bit attached to the old girl now and dont want to get rid of it for the sake of a gearbox.
