It's winter....so yesterday it broke.
So after changing the resistor, fiddling about with connections and checking fuses (when has that ever fixed anything?) and pulling half the dash out...turns out the switch was toast.
Saved by the old Surf, I now have 2 heater controls. Toasty in the morning
While in there I noticed the radio that had been fitted was cutting through the wiring loom...
So this springs work has grown since the turn of the year to:
Heater
Radio
Fuel lines
Rear heater pipes
NS lower ball joint
NSF shock
NS track rod end
...and it's still only January.
Then got to start on something totally non Surf related...
