3rd gen steering rack bushes
Had a fun day yesterday, changed the bushes on the steering rack.
Truck was a very wobbly, following tracks in then road and always felt I was correcting the steering.
Glad I had use of a garage to get it up in the air.
change was a bit daunting at first, didn't think it was going to plan.
Any way, drop the ARB mounts then pull the rack away from the crossmember, the vertical mounted bush is captive in a cup type mount and the horizontal bush has to come out from the crossmemeber side.
The large bush on the D mount was the trickiest and required a second pair of hands to hold the power steering pipes away enough to jiggle the bush and clamp into place.
What a difference it has made to the feel of the steering etc.
Even the other half commented on the difference it has made to the feel of the front suspension and steering.
£30 from RT and the use of some lifts to get it in the air. Wouldn't want to tackle it on the drive on a pair of ramps.
