  • Air con belt length difference?

    As the title says..

I have a Milners 13a X 1175 air con belt (£3.95). Just had it thrown in with an alternator I bought, as it wouldn't cost any more in postage.. (The alternator is working great, by the way.. Milners' one is the right one for a '94 KZN130)

I know there was/is also a Halfrauds one, HB1200c (or something like that).

I read on here, somewhere, that the 1175 is a bitch to get on (TonyN).. How much of a bitch is it..?

Also, I suppose the 1200c is just a bit longer, with reference to the name, I guess.. Sounds like it's an inch longer..

Which is better in use and if I do go ahead with fitting the 1175, any tips...?

Oh and is it wrong of me to be slightly ####ed off that my, just, 20 yr old alternator just gave in on me..?

    Anyone..?

Any tips on air con belt replacement, with the milners belt, that is..

Or advice on a better belt....

    Thanks.

Hmmm... Replying to my own requests, it seems...

Ok, it looks like the one from Milners is just a little too small, as said..

The product number does refer it to being 1175mm.

Now, with a bit of research, with the original AC belt part number - 90916-02397, I found a heap of other belts (no surprise there) that supposedly fit kzn130's, but they vary a bit in length..

The Toyota original is 1195, I think, in length, so that's why it's damn well impossible to fit. I am going to inform Milners, if it does any good..

I may try a Bosch one (No. 1987948149), as this should be 1184mm in length.. Or any other one that I can lay my hands on, that's just a bit longer..

I'll keep this link updated, if and when I get another belt.

Hope this helps... As in struggling with a belt that just doesn't want to fit. Then, having an experienced Toyota engineer tell me it's too short...

Oh, all seem to be 13mm in width..
