AVM HP or RT Generic Manual Hubs?

Hey all,

I've noted that the AVM High Performance manual hubs are similarly priced as RoughtTrax's Generic version. I know neither are Warn or that other brand (regarded as the best)...but AVM seem to have a decent reputation when it comes to their HP line.

Anyone got any experience and whether I should go for the known brand or the RT ones? They're likely from the same place but the AVM HPs are from a single billet. RT doesn't say if theirs are from a cast or not.

What are the differences in construction Sy?

I ask as they don't exactly have to do much work as far as I understand....

The AVM HP's internals use a solid steel billet, whereas some lesser use cast. The RTs don't say their machined from a solid piece so I guess they're not.

They're very close in price so I'd be swayed by the branded ones. But I'm asking for opinions because the rest of them may be crap.
