Look under your bonnet, sometimes there is a sticker there that tells you
well, that was a bad idea!

If he was adding to the original charge then the amount could be right.
However as your aircon still is not cold, and if you pardon the pun there are degrees of cold, why not just take it back and ask them to put it right.
Quite simply you have paid for a service which you have not received.
IIRC the last one I did took 750 or maybe 830 grammes.

Can you see bubbles in the sight glass?
Is the suction line at the compressor sweating?

          Not enough refrigerant,most probably.

Have you guys got converted ACs? I believe mine (which is dead) is not an allowed gas any more.

Need to have it properly checked rather than presuming, like

                You can either
                use a drop in.
                use another gas.

                Mine runs/ran on R134a.

Thought you needed to convert seals etc to get the modern day (or none Japanese old surf) gas in there?

The post 96 models left Japan with R134a gas being used.Previously they would have used R12.
                    I think.

There have been lots of studies carried out on the conversion of R12 systems to run on R134a.

Yes there may some issues with seals and yes some of the rubber hoses used may actually be permeable to R134a.

The conversion I did on my truck lasted at least 5 years before the underslung condenser was filled with Salisbury Plain and stopped working.

On my conversion I flushed the old mineral oil and used POE with R134a.

With regard to potential loss through hoses and seals I believe more will be lost through the compressor crank seal, through normal drying out of the seal when the compressor is not being used.

He is probably looking at the data for a much later model ie one that is originally on R134a

I don't know what is worse, the blatant disregard for enthalpy/entropy charts or the fact you freely admitted to owning a smart car.
