Out of interest, what would be involved replacing the damaged studs?

I'd expect they're press fit...WD40 and some hammering....I've not done a stud in 25 years mind, so others may have a better take on it.

A chap with a decent hammer will knock them out and get the new ones seated.

The studs that come with wheel spacers aren't as good as the OEM ones, I only torque them up to 105Nm, rather than 113.

If a stud has been overtightened at any point in its life it will have stretched, once stretched it's weakened, once weakened it's just a matter of time before it fails.

They denied gunning them up but all I could hear was the gun reving its head off for the whole time I was there waiting.

I also had a battle on my hands just getting them to agree to replace the stud FOC (booked back in 9am in the morning).....although I doubt anyone there really knows what they're doing - they said the caliper+disc & maybe the entire hub needs to be removed so I'm now cr@pping myself over that.

What is actually involved in fitting a new stud.....entire hub removal or is it just a case of lifting the caliper & removing the disc?

I'd like to be pre-armed before they go at it like a bull at a gate.

Can't remember, but I'm sure they can be knocked through after removing the caliper and disc. No need to dismantle the hub.
