  • big ends

I mentioned this in another thread.
Why would my truck have 3 matched big end bearings and one different?
Did Toyota sometimes do this or is it a bodge from a previous owner??

    Certainly not Toyota.

Quite common for crank bearings to vary as far as I know. There is actually three sizes of "standard" bearings that I know of, before they actually go to 10 and 20 thou undersize. Are your originals marked with a 1,2 or 3?

        I agree Nev

tis only a distant memory now ( sign of old age ) , seem to remember the lads in the workshop having to mix/match shells depending on the measurements from the plastigauge.

        or I might be wrong

            Thanks,
I'll check the numbers today. I think 3 are 44b and 1 set has 42g stamped on it.

Had a look at the bearings.
              They are Taiho.
3 sets numbered 2E44B and one set is 2E42G.
              Anyone come across them before?
