So I'm not new to the all powerful 2.4td as I've owned mine for a year now. It's a 1991 ssr surf, the engine was rebuilt 100000 kms ago and it also got a new turbo or so the receipt says. So now to my problem, just recently it seems my turbo is louder under full boost or at least I think it's the turbo. The noise happens when I'm accelerating or when I just tap the gas pedal. It's almost like a whirring/slight chirping noise. When I'm at a steady pace and about 5psi the noise goes away and it just sounds like a regular turbo whine. I check for any visible exhaust leaks and nothing that I can see, I noticed a bit of oil build up around all of the entries/exits from the turbo but it's holding full boost and mileage is same as always. Can anyone verify what this chirping noise is?
