In the process of changing the rear shoes, and trying to find the source of the a*se vibration at speed, I'v'e found some play in the o/s rear halfshaft.
Basically with the drum and shoes removed I'm left with the backing plate, cylinder, and the center hub section. You can pull/push on this center section by a good 1 - 2mm. The n/s doesn't have any play at all. Removing this section is easy enough and you end up with a long shaft/spline type rod that inserts into the rear axle. With the brake section on the floor, I could see a fair bit of left/right play on the rear bearings.
Now for the question. Anyone done this before and if so, how easy are these to change? It looked machine pressed so I've re-assembled as it was for the time being. I'm not even sure which parts I would order from Milners.
I've already spoken with Streetluge Chris who didn't have any spares (easiest method), and he gave me some good info, but I fear something of this level is above me and going to cost £££'s.
Cheers.
