Hi guys..ive actually been a member for around 3-4 years but only just remembered about this after scratching my head for ages over this damn problem.
I recently did a stupid thing and thought id try adjusting the spill valve on my surf...(2lte turbo system, pump, efi etc on a modified 5l block..which usually runs like a dream). everything is also brand new within the last year...new head, new turbo a week ago, brand new pump when did conversion to new engine...
as was saying....adjusted the control valve a tiny tiny bit and next thing as soon as i touch the accelerator white smoke bellows out..and so bad my neighbours complain!!! like a batman smoke screen!
My mechanic mate has checked most stuff already...replaced correction resistors, spill control valve, wiring, purged injectors, bled lines, replaced fuel and air filters, checked timing belt and fuel lines...just kinda at a loss now and really dont want to tell myself it could be the head (3rd one already!!) or the block(as was meant to have been reconned when i had them do the conversion.) any suggestions or help would be most appreciated as have the mrs on my back to get rid of it now but cant bring myself to do it as has been my pride, joy, sweat and blood blood and more blood for the last few years. just seems strange it would happen instantly...thought maybe id broken a wire somewhere or something but cant find anything left for the life of me. ecu code also reads normal.....1 flash
