  • power steering pump question

So I thought my power-steering belt was just lose as the wheel jerked if I tried to turn while not moving. However after tightening it worked for a little while, it still jerking a bit while still. Now I have no power steering. It doesn't leak? is it just bust ?

    Cheers in advance

Make sure the main pivot bolt on mount is tight. They can come loose, the bolt can wear and even snap off sometimes.

if that bolt is failing would that mean the pump is moving about and the belt not making contact to power the pump? I think the pump is solid ie not moving but I will defo check it today cheers

Yes, it will move around and wear the bolt. If you tighten the belt and it becomes loose again then look closely at that bolt. This is what mine was doing and tightening that bolt has solved the problem. Be a little careful though and make sure you loosen the adjuster bolts a little first before tightening. If this bolt breaks it's engine mount removal to fix.
