Rear window seal

Over the last few days i have noticed an occasional drip from the top edge of the rear window seal (the seal around the tailgate window). I have had the inner plastic panel out and it seems to be creeping in between the seal and body during heavy rain. I would like to remove the rubber seal to investigate and it also has a plastic cover/trim on the outside but i can't see how it comes off and dont like pulling and tugging it too much in case i break something.

Any advice or suggestions on how to remove this without damaging anything would be great
