Replacing CV Axle.

I have 1989 Surf 2.4 LN130

Now i noticed a slit in my drivers outer cv boot. It grinded once in a blue moon and was hoping to last it out through winter but i was driving home the other day and it started grinding extremely hard and loud. Now i'm assuming its the outer cv axle joint due to the boot being open and barely any grease in there.

Now i have the article on it from the ausie site for replacing the boots. Dunno if its that great of a write up but was wondering if anyone else had a write up on how to replace the outer cv joint?

Probly a dumb question but also was wondering if the 89 4runner joint would work as well?

Now does anyone know if a new 4runner passenger outer cv axle joint would work on the drivers cv axle joint on the hilux?

Also is it difficult to replace the bronze bushings i there while i got the axle out? Or is it pretty simple and straight forward?
