Hi all .... just before Christmas I noticed while waiting at a junction the auto box seemed to be kicking as if it was trying to take off with the brakes on. When I got home I checked the fluid level which was low so I topped it up with the engine running and all was fine.
A few days ago after going through some large puddles, while driving along I felt it kick again as if for a brief second it went out of gear and back in again. When I stopped it was constantly jerking and was hard to hold on the brakes, checked oil again and was down slightly , topped up and then took it out and thrashed the hell out of it and on my return all was well .... but there was an intermittent bag of spanners noise from gearbox / torque converter coupled with a slipping clutch type sound.
The next day I fired her up ... no noise perfect in all gears no jumping perfect!! and has been ever since ?
My question .... could the water from the deep puddles have caused an electrical problem in the gearbox or because the oil was low is it possible to get an air lock in the system somewhere ie after checking the second time it was low again ? No visble leaks anywhere and oil was still nice and red ??? cheers
