  • 2" lift but very poor heaters

Hi all merry Xmas, not sure if the two are related but I recently lifted my k reg surf 2.4td by 2 inches, no probs with the lift apart from the hi/lo selector not going forward all the way but that's another story. But now I seem to be having trouble getting good heat out of the heaters, if I'm above 2000 rpm its ok but not amazin it seems like the water pump isn't man enough to push the water up 2 inches higher, anyone else have this trouble?

Did you lift the radiator too? Or did you fit drop brackets?
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

The radiator filler cap needs to be the highest point in the cooling system. Is your cap on the radiator or on the engine?

The filler is on the Engine, so that's why I keep gettin air locks?

            Yes.
You need to lower the rad so that the filler cap is the highest point.

Ive got the same problem with mine after a 2 inch lift but i was thinking its my heater matrix blocked. Ive used radiator brackets but still no good. Ill check tomorrow and make sure the brackets are actually lowering the rad and not the wrong way round.

They drop the radiator, not lift it.

If you have a 3.0 (fill in your truck details under your username) then the radiator can stay in it's original position as it has a cap on it.

Have u tried puttin the garden hose through it? If u have ever put a radiator sealant in there that sometimes blocks the matrix.

No. The pipework may be, but that's not a huge issue. The volume of air you have trapped in the radiator is massive in comparison.
